Intercambioperu is active on two levels; on the one hand we play a leading role in the realization of volunteering, or exchange activities, and on the other hand we are involved in a number of activities directly related to the planning, financing and realization of social and environmental projects. Momentarily all our activities take place in the area of Lircay, department of Huancavelica, situated in the Andean region of Peru.
Exchange activities
We believe that the exchange between individuals and cultures is essential for people’s personal development, and besides, it is an important means to raise awareness on environmental and societal issues. We consider our volunteering activities as a unique opportunity to make this possible, not only for our volunteers but also for the local population and the organizations we work with.
We have already organized a number of volunteering activities during the past months for people from all over the world. What makes Intercambio Peru especially attractive is the fact that we can arrange volunteering work and language lessons at almost any moment for as long as you like at a very reasonable price. Projects
Besides the exchange activities we arrange, we are involved in the identification, planning and realization of environmental and societal projects in the area of Lircay and play an active role in fundraising.
Paul Los, presently working as a lecturer at a local university in Lircay, has been working in Huancavelica for several years as a development worker and has considerable experience with the different steps of the project cycle and has thorough knowledge on the institutional environment of Peru. Because of our experience and through working closely together with local organizations and professionals we are able to identify projects that have a high cost-benefit ratio. This means that with a small amount of money it’s possible to obtain significant results.
